NASA will launch a rocket from its Wallops Island Flight Center in Virginia.  The Terrier Malelute Suborbital Sounding Rocket is scheduled to launch on Saturday, April 18th, between 6:30am and 10:00am. The rocket will carry experiments from a variety of Universities from around the country. This launch was originally scheduled for March of this year but was postponed due unfavorable launch weather.

Military Activity Lower Eastern Shore Region: The Maryland Air National Guard's A-10s from the 104th Fighter Squadron of Baltimore will conduct low level training from
1545 - 1700 April 14-17. The training will take place in the vicinities of Vienna in Dorchester County, Mardela Springs and Nanticoke in Wicomico County, and the Somerset County towns of Mount Vernon, Deal Island, Dames Quarter, Chance, Oriole, Vinton, Upper Hill, Upper Fairmont, Fairmont, Rumbly, and Marion Station. Airspace has been coordinated with the Federal Aviation Administration, and the impact will be mitigated to residents on the ground by avoiding populated areas and adhering to all FAA and U.S. Air Force regulations.

Government Operations Lower Eastern Shore: Officials from the Maryland Department of Agriculture have announced they will be spraying for mosquitoes this week in Dorchester, Somerset, and Worcester counties. Residents should expect to see the mosquito control aircraft larvaciding over 4,000 acres of wooded wetlands on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. The department wants residents to know in case anyone is alarmed, they will utilize a twin-engine white plane with red and blue stripes, that will hover about 250 feet above the ground as it does its sweeps. Dorchester, Somerset and Worcester counties are the only counties that have an aerial larviciding contract with Mosquito Control. Wicomico County will also have areas sprayed, but from a ground unit at a later date

White's Electronics

One of my fondness memories as a child growing up and camping with my grandparents was to go metal detecting.  I was amazed at the treasures that are out there to be found.

While camping it is a great way to spend a few hours enjoying your day.

White's Electronics was kind enough to send us a box of goodies for our raffle and handouts.  Be sure to check out their web site below to view their full line of metal locating devices.

Made in America and Family-Owned Since 1950

Family-owned White’s Electronics manufactures the best metal detectors for recreation, security, and industry. Taking advantage of the latest research and development has made White’s Electronics a leader in the field of metal detecting.

White's Electronics designs and builds metal detectors in Sweet Home, Oregon. A second facility in Inverness, Scotland, serves Europe and Asia.
The company is led by Ken and Mary White, guided by the same philosophy that was so successful for Ken's father when he began the company in 1950.
"Give the customers quality and value, and treat your employees like family."
That's the mission of White's Electronics.

FIRED UP!!!!!!

On Thursday night after we get our fill of the SWEETS from the Pot-Luck Desserts Everyone is invited  to camp site numbers 56 and 57
Don and JoAnn Kautz , and, Lucinda and Gary Whistler,  have extended a special invitation to everyone. Their camp sites are right beside one another. The same sites they have used for several years.
They are wonderful host and hostess's you will have a great time.
They will have at least one, possibly two, fires burning and waiting for you. They have a lot
 of room for everyone.
Bring your lawn chairs, your beverage of choice, if you want to make smores or something like that, bring everything you would need. They provide the fires, you bring what you want.
Most important,
remember "everyone" is invited !!!
It will be a great time to renew old friendships, make new friends, tell some war stories, talk truck camper "stuff" well, you get the idea.
AND, the rest of the story here, they will have the  same fires  burning every evening, just in case you forgot a war story or, decide to make another one up.   Just sayin !!!
